"The metal can't take the pressure." 2010-08-30
By Juicer
The lime portion of the juicer broke completely off the third time I used it. The metal broke near the hinge. Waste of money.

"AVOID - Broke with Limited Use" 2010-08-20
By Robert Funk (Morrison, CO USA)
While the fundamental design works great as a juiver, this specific item should be avoided. Failed after limited use. Poorly designed in key stress point, and made with cheap metal which breaks in limited normal use.

"At first they were great, but then . . ." 2010-08-11
By A. Weaver (Ormond Beach, FL USA)
I bought the lemon, lime and orange juicers several months ago. They were a wonderful tool, however after a few months, I noticed the paint was chipping off and exposing the metal. I don't know about you, but I do not want the highly acidic lemon juice reacting with the exposed metal and imparting anything additional to my food. So I sadly tossed all of them out, and went back to the wooden reamer. I'm in search now for a stainless steel version that won't react with the acidic nature of lemons and limes.

I would suggest to the manufacturer to forget about the aesthetics and focus on function. If you want to make something aesthetically appealing, why not decorate the handles with color plates instead?

Please, don't waste your money on these types of items because you'll end up throwing them away in a few months like I did.

"Hinge broke after 4 months, but is still usable" 2010-07-16
By Gabe (New Orleans, LA)
Like a few other reviewers, I too had the hinge break. While trying to juice a particularly hard lime, I applied enough pressure to cause the green lime plate to break at the hinge. I was applying a large amount of pressure when the break happened, although I don't think it was an unreasonable amount that exceeded what a device like this should expect. Luckily, this doesn't render the device unusable -- I can still keep the plate in place to successfully juice limes and lemons.

If not for the hinge failure, I would have rated 5 stars.

"Broke after a couple months of use" 2010-06-23
By Jason M. Novak (Washington, DC United States)
While this appears to be a great product, there is one caveat -- and I wish I had seen these other reviews before I bought mine. The middle hinged piece for squeezing limes broke after only a couple months of use.

Too bad, because up until that point, this was my favorite lime juicer. It had all the appearance of being a solid piece of work, but those hinges are just too weak. Think I'll look for something a little more solid.
